Thermco Systems & Tetreon Technologies

Tetreon Technologies Ltd was established in November 2003, and specialises in diffusion furnaces for semiconductor, MEMs, photovoltaic, nanomaterial and scientific applications.

Tetreon addresses the equipment supply marketplace with a support model that reflects the changing nature of the industry. In addition to manufacturing and supplying new tools, a key aspect of our business model is to provide the legacy furnace tool marketplace with cost-effective upgrades to support new processes and larger wafer sizes.

The company was founded by Gerry Thurgood, former President and Managing Director of Tokyo Electron Europe, previously the Managing Director of Thermco Systems UK Ltd. In November 2004, Tetreon acquired the intellectual property and other assets of the ‘Thermco’ Horizontal Furnace (HTR) product line from Aviza Technology (Scotts Valley, California). The Thermco Systems line is the world's best-known brand of horizontal furnaces, with an installed base of over 20,000 tubes.

In 2007 Tetreon and Semitool jointly announced the Semitherm VTP 1500X vertical furnace, a completely new vertical processing platform, combining the best features of the previous generation Semitherm furnaces with the Thermco TMX control system. Tetreon is Semitool’s exclusive global sales and support partner for this exciting new product.

As a supplier of class leading horizontal and vertical furnace equipment with a manufacturing and support base in Europe and a network of specialist distributors worldwide, Tetreon has established itself as a key player in the diffusion furnace marketplace.
